| Requirement To start with, we envisage a network comprising 3 trains- each transporting, say, 60 passengers. Visually, the monorail should look futuristic,smart and original but it should also incorporate the necessary technology to fit the climate: for example, windows that guarantee maximum view of the environnment, but also ensure minimum heat attraction. General information MM ( Manama Monorail ) is the vital part of the Manama Trading Orbit. It would connect all the trade bridges with each other. A trip along the Corniche would provide an entirely different overhead perspective to the visitors. The panoramic view of the land and sea would provide an exciting visual spectacle to the tourists. All the projects alongside will have tremendous exposure, which would boost their individual image and bring rapid and intensive development to the area.
ROUTE : The Monorail would run
alongside the King Faisal Corniche from the
Exhibition Centre to the Museum. The
"one-way" option will be 7 to 9 km, and the
"loop" option will be 14 to 18 km including
the Diplomatic Area and connecting the Exhibition
Road end through the GOSI Shopping Mall. The
"loop" option can accommodate additional
trains depending on the traffic and frequency
requirement. 1. It is the most internationally acclaimed and attractive transport system. With its height above ground, it can run alongside the Corniche; it would also provide interesting views to the passengers. 2. The MM does not encroach upon land, nor require protective, unsightly fencing and it does not block the sea-view. 3. As well as being very comfortable and environment friendly, it is free from noise and polution. Moreover it does not interfere with the existing traffic and has a zero accident record. 4. With its stylish and futuristic design, it will become a symbol of the nation’s modern outlook. |
